Multi-Class Fire Suppression with NFPA 18A Encapsulator Technology
The F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher delivers superior incipient fire protection and flammable spill control in a compact, stainless steel unit. It effectively tackles both polar and non-polar fuels, neutralizing a half-gallon fuel spill in minutes with just one charge.
The F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher comes with two nozzle options: Misting Nozzle (MN) and Straight Bore (SB). For optimal control over small lithium-ion battery fires, the Misting Nozzle (MN) is recommended.
F-500 EA® has passed the NEN NTA 8133 Dutch lithium-ion battery standard, recognized as the first of its kind for consumer electronics. This certification validates its ability to stop thermal runaway propagation in devices such as smartphones, laptops, drones, e-bike batteries, and more.
Our F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher is ideal for fire departments and industries facing incipient lithium-ion battery fires including smartphones, laptops, drones, e-bikes, power tools, and more. For larger li-ion battery hazards found in electric vehicles, battery packs, charging stations, parking garages, energy storage systems, data centers, warehouses, and recycling centers, we recommend our F-500 EA® QAMU, F-500 EA® Mobile Cart, Diamond Doser® Micelle Mist Fire Suppression Systems powered by F-500 EA® for adequate lithium-ion battery fire protection.
Yes, the F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher is compact and safe for use in enclosed, populated spaces like aircraft cabins. Its ability to control lithium battery fires in electronic devices makes it a reliable choice for flight crews to manage fire hazards from devices such as laptop batteries or smartphones.
Unlike CO₂ and dry chemical extinguishers, the F-500 EA® works by encapsulating the fuel, interrupting the fire’s chemical reaction, and rapidly absorbing thermal energy. This advanced technology prevents re-ignition by separating the fuel from oxygen at a molecular level. The F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher is especially effective in managing lithium battery fires, where traditional agents may fall short in providing long-term suppression.
When using the F-500 EA® Fire Extinguisher, always maintain a safe distance from the fire source, especially when dealing with lithium-ion battery fires that can be unpredictable and burn at extremely high temperatures. Always wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and goggles, to protect against any potential hazards.
Multi-Class Fire Suppression with NFPA 18A Encapsulator Technology
Multi-class Fire Suppression with NFPA 18A Encapsulator Technology
There are five different classes of fires: Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, and Class K. Each classification presents unique challenges and requirements for effective fire suppression, so it’s important to respond appropriately to protect lives and minimize property damage.
F-500 Encapsulator Agent is the answer to today’s multi-class fire hazards. By working on all four legs of the fire tetrahedron simultaneously, F-500 EA® offers superior performance for Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, and lithium-ion hazard protection.

Although today’s most common fires contain ordinary combustible materials, some Class A hazards can generate harmful smoke and soot as they burn. For example, rubber tires can emit cyanide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, benzene, styrene, and 1,3-butadiene. Our F-500 EA® extinguishing agent can rapidly mitigate these fires while reducing the concentration of carcinogenic toxins at the nozzle.

Because firefighting foam works by forming a blanket that mechanically separates fuel from oxygen, NFPA 11 states that it is inappropriate in the event of a three-dimensional flowing fuel fire. F-500 EA® works on a molecular level, interacting with all legs of the fire tetrahedron simultaneously to neutralize fuel and mitigate three-dimensional flowing fuel hazards without forming a blanket.

Contemporary internal combustion engine, hybrid, and electric vehicles all contain lightweight magnesium and titanium parts. The facilities responsible for processing these combustible metals are at an increased risk. Unlike plain water and many other water additives, F-500 EA® can extinguish these hot burning metal fires reaching 2,000-4,000°F or more without producing an explosive reaction.

Class B extinguishers are used on combustible liquids such as gasoline and ethanol. Fuel spills can complicate roadside incidents, machinery leaks, and many more modern emergencies. Where non-fluorinated foams may take several applications to form a reliable blanket, F-500 EA® encapsulates the fuel source instantly.

While many water additives are typically unsafe to use in an energized environment, F-500 EA® can grant firefighting professionals the ability to successfully mitigate these hazards while taking proper precautions. According to Suggested Operating Guidelines (SOG) published by FDNY, F-500 EA® has proven itself as an effective fire suppression solution when applied in energized environments up to 345 kV.

Lithium-ion battery powered technology is now an essential component of our daily lives. According to FDNY, structure fires involving emobility devices were the leading cause of NYC’s fire-related deaths in 2023. Over fifteen years of third-party testing has shown F-500 EA®’s ability to improve the performance of both plain water and water mist fire suppression while mitigating lithium-ion battery fire flammability, explosivity, and toxicity.
F-500 EA® is found free of fluorides recognized as harmful and carcinogenic by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) following EPA Modified 537 testing.
F-500 EA® is internationally recognized as a readily biodegradable substance for applications alongside marine, freshwater, and soil species under normal conditions of use.
Decades of scientific testing has shown that F-500 EA® has an approximate PH of 7. It is noncorrosive and has even been utilized to treat miscellaneous hazmat spills.
